Leadership Rings

What makes you a good leader?

Role: Project Lead + Fabricator

Tasked with creating an interactive exhibit in one week on a $500 budget for Adaptive Path’s Leading Experiences conference, we concepted & fabricated a an environmental display and set of rings, each representing a different leadership quality. Guests chose two rings, traits which they deemed most important for a leader to possess. The experience acted as an ice breaker for attendees to casually start a conversation.

Objectives

  • Attendees should feel that they are contributing to the conference

  • Takeaways act as a conversation starter between guests

  • Create an engaging experience that participants will want to share on social media

Outcomes & Lessons

A small interactive experience can feel SO MUCH bigger if it’s well integrated across an event or ecosystem. It doesn’t take much, but requires a concerted effort and collaboration with event coordinators.

Within the app we sent push notifications to remind attendees to select their rings, broadcasted live results on stage between sessions, and developed talking points so staff could engage with the audience directly (empowering others to champion an experience is key!)
