Elements

Proving that experiences matter

Role: Experience Designer + Fabricator

Five illuminated pillars displayed elements cards in front of a large screen. As participants lifted the card from the pillars, it activated the screen to reflect the participants and the room in one of the five material based filter. Levels of Engagement

Testing

Quick maquettes

Physical volume studies to test proportions and overall arrangement of pillars

Making

People approach the display in different ways. Most like to observe what's going on before engaging with the cards, some pick up the cards right away, and some beeline straight for the sign ups. We designed the experience for all of these interactions. An experience has to be just as enticing for the passive observer as for the active engager.

Lo-fi user testing

The Experience

It’s a great example of changing the public perception around traditional banking.

CAD mock ups

Pillar iterations testing materials, lighting, & construction methods

Artistic and innovative. This would generate intrigue from anyone that sees it.

Outcomes & Lessons

Of the 536 people that approached the display, 3102 cards were picked up (~6 cards per person.) We exceeded our goal, 220 associates signed up for the waitlist (40% of the people who engaged) over two days. The experience received overwhelmingly positive feedback in person (56 written reviews) and online (258 survey submissions) and the card was green lit for a public launch!
