Role: Visual + Motion Designer

Founded by Chino Amobi, Nkisi, and Angel-Ho… NON Worldwide groups together artists and producers from Africa & the international African diaspora into an independent digital nation state confronting colonial heritages head-on.

Since it’s inception I worked as a visual designer animating large scale stage visuals, editing footage, and creating promotional material for the record label.

Ethos

In addition to music, NON spreads its directed political mission via a battalion of art forms – graphic design, video, performance, fashion. NON is a call to arms, and as such, its propaganda is urgent, aggressive, even militaristic in concept. Using sound as their primary medium, the collective hopes to bring attention to “visible and invisible structures that create binaries in society, and in turn distribute power.” For NON, sound can be weaponized, reclaimed and reoriented into a tool that can destabilize an audience.
